Due to their sturdy fiberglass
construction, San Juan fiberglass pools never need

The smooth fiberglass surface

The gel-coat surface of a
San Juan pool is a polyester MPG-Isothalic resin
with color pigment mixed in. This gel-coat is chemically
bonded to the fiberglass and becomes an integral
part of the pool. The 30-32 mill gel-coat finish
is nonporous, chemically inert, and extremely resistant
to acids and oxidizers. Algae cannot penetrate the
finish, and any stains which may form on the gel-coat
can easily be removed by adding a stain remover
to the pool water. |
